AI: A conversation with MEP Dragoş Tudorache

Artificial Intelligence has become an unavoidable and divisive issue, one that will certainly be at the centre of discussions during this election year.
The Columbia University Club of Belgium and Sciences Po Alumni Belgium have the pleasure of inviting all their members and friends to a discussion on AI with MEP Dragoş Tudorache, Vice-president of the Renew Europe Group, rapporteur of the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on laying down harmonised rules on Artificial Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence Act) and amending certain Union Legislative Acts.
About the Speaker
Dragoș Tudorache is a Member of the European Parliament and Vice-President of the Renew Europe Group. He is the LIBE rapporteur on the AI Act, and he sits on the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), the Committee of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent surveillance spyware (PEGA), the Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE), and the European Parliament's Delegation for relations with the United States (D-US). He was the Chair of the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Age (AIDA).
He was recently awarded for his outstanding contribution to EU policymaking in the 20th edition of the annual MEP awards.
MEP Tudorache will be in conversation with Maria Isabel Soldevila Brea (Columbia Journalism '04) a journalist with over 20 years of experience. In Brussels, she has been working in European communication since 2017 and is currently Head of Communication of the European University Alliance CIVIS.
